first semester thoughts
so... dear internet, it's been very hectic these past two months. i didn't really have the time to actually sit down and organize my thoughts about everything that's been happening.
first things first - most important event that's happened - i transferred colleges (from psychology to urban settlements). i go to uni in my hometown now instead of a city an hour away. it's been very convenient and i feel more comfortable here. it's easier to meet friends spontaneously because they're either on campus as well or they're within the area. it's still hard to organize hang-outs with friends attending other colleges in different cities but we make it happen...
i liked studying psychology, but it wasn't enough to convince me to stay. my schedule was abysmal and so draining. i don't know. i guess i'm just not built for night classes. i do miss some of my college friends though. we haven't talked but i hope they are doing well (despite the horrors......)
there's a couple of things that have taken me by surprise. there's always so much to read in my program. sometimes i feel like i can't keep up with everything, but that's a normal part of the college experience, i just have to grit my teeth and get to fucking reading. another thing is that quizzes aren't common (it's already around midterms and i've only ever had one written quiz). it's more labour-extensive (presentations, public speaking, group discussions, debriefs, projects, etc.). yesterday i went to bataan to visit an ICC. the fieldwork ended up taking 19 hours (2 am to 9 pm).
my legs are weak from both sitting down for so long and standing for so long. i also snacked a lot on the road and i'm totally constipated - i brought a probiotic yogurt drink yesterday and drank 400 ml of it in one sitting but it kind of did nothing? i'm struggling to poop. maybe i should eat more fiber instead of eating random bullshit... Lol.
i have midterms exam for my ethics class this wednesday. i already did the readings but i need to reread everything for my own peace of mind. it's only two questions, essay type, with open notes, but with the time limit of 80 minutes and being hand-written. i am scared... i want to do well. GE courses are generally so bothersome, but i tell myself it could be worse.
i also have this project where i have to take care of a baby (plushie filled with 3 kilograms of rice) and make a babybook to submit. her name is ballerina cappucina, she's a hello kitty plush, and she's currently with her other mommy for this week (we do joint custody).
🎂 it's my mom's birthday today! she's 42 now. i didn't have the time (nor money...) to buy her a gift so i'll do that tomorrow. for now i'll do house chores and hope that makes her happy~
lately i have been obssessed with hal jordan. it's a disease. my instagram homepage is filled with kyle chandler's face (not complaining) and i'm also in denial that hal is dead in the 2026 timeline permanently. i refuse. there's no way they killed him off just like that....... #copium??? no ❤️ it's called having hope. a week ago i was taking a shower and i started crying about him. i fear it's that serious. sorry to my friends who are being subjected to my hal jordan induced episodes of intense sadness and cuteness aggression. CF23 is underway, i got some merch of hal (photocard + keychain) because i wanna build an ita bag~ i'm really excited for it.
my stomach totally hurts right now so i think i'll cut this entry here for now... bye, internet!
